While the Fathers are traveling for Parish Missions, the only obligations are half an hour of mental prayer, Mass, thanksgiving, rosary, Divine Office or its commutation, and short night prayers. The rest of the time is spent by the priests in preaching and hearing confessions, and the lay brother who may accompany them makes sure that things run smoothly, as well as interacts with the faithful while the priests are occupied in the confessional.
